Disconnect or remove the integration
There are two different "off" buttons depending on what you want. Disconnect from VeryQuery pauses the sync but keeps your data ready for reconnect. Uninstalling the app from Shopify is the full removal.
Disconnect from VeryQuery
Use this when you want to stop syncing for now but keep the option to reconnect later without rebuilding.
- Sign in to your VeryQuery dashboard.
- Open Integrations from the left sidebar.
- Click Disconnect on the Shopify card and confirm.
What happens:
- VeryQuery stops calling Shopify's Admin API.
- Product and order webhooks stop being processed. New orders no longer feed your property.
- Storefront-side embeds (Search, Similar items, Smart Categories, Signals) keep working until you remove them from your theme editor. They'll show empty or error states once your VeryQuery property no longer recognizes the store.
- Your existing items, intelligence map, search-query history, and recorded shopper actions stay in your VeryQuery property, untouched. If you reconnect the same store later, everything picks up where it left off.
Uninstall the app from Shopify
Use this when you want VeryQuery completely removed from your Shopify store.
- In your Shopify admin, open Settings, Apps and sales channels.
- Find VeryQuery in the list.
- Click the trash icon (or "Uninstall") and confirm.
What happens:
- The app is removed from your Shopify admin and all VeryQuery embeds (Search, Similar items, Smart Categories, Signals) disappear from the theme editor.
- Shopify revokes our access token immediately. We can no longer read your catalog, even if you don't disconnect from the VeryQuery side.
- About 48 hours later, Shopify sends VeryQuery a final signal to redact your store's data. At that point, the catalog, search queries, recorded shopper actions, and intelligence artifacts associated with that store are deleted from VeryQuery's systems.
- Your VeryQuery org stays open. You can keep using VeryQuery via the API or by connecting a different store.
Reconnecting
To bring the integration back, just go through the connect flow again from the Integrations page. If your VeryQuery property still has the previous catalog and queries (i.e. Shopify's redact hasn't fired yet, or you only disconnected from our side), the reconnect picks up the existing data and runs an Admin API sync to catch up on anything that changed.
Switching to a different store
One Shopify store per VeryQuery property is the supported shape today. To switch, disconnect the current store, then connect the new one. The new store's catalog ingests fresh; the old store's data stays in your property until you either uninstall it from Shopify or wait out the redaction window.
Closing your VeryQuery account
If you want to close your VeryQuery account entirely, contact [email protected] and we'll handle the full deletion. Account closure removes your VeryQuery data alongside your Shopify-derived data.
